A free machine embroidered Red Squirrel on white linen. The embroidery is created with varying shades of thread giving depth and definition to this life-like portrayal of one of Britain's native inhabitants. With their distinctive russet fur, tufted ears and twitching tail, the red squirrel is often seen in autumn foraging for nuts before the long winter months. Once common in the UK they are on the retreat from the more common grey squirrel.
The embroidery is doubled mounted, signed and measures 12" x 12" (approx 30 x 30 cm).
