A free machine embroidery featuring three feathers in shades of copper and grey on natural linen.
The embroidery is created with varying shades of thread giving depth and definition to each feather. I start by drawing a faint outline, then 'draw free hand' with my machine, changing threads as I go along, building up layers of colour to create the shape and texture of each feather.
The embroidery is mounted and framed in lime-washed wood and measures approximately 40cm x 32cm.
