Hand Embroidered Danish Heart Christmas Decorations 12th Dec
Join Two Little Birds for an evening of festive sewing. The history of Danish woven hearts is rooted in the combination of paper cutting traditions, folk art and the desire to decorate Christmas trees. In Scandinavian culture hearts have long symbolised love and goodwill so what better reason to make these to give as gifts or fill with treats to hang on the tree? Traditionally made from coloured paper or felt woven together in a checkerboard pattern, they can be stitched together and stuffed or left open at the top like a woven basket.
The workshop will include all the felt and thread you need, equipment is provided and there will be festive drinks and treats to fuel the creative process.
