A free machine embroidery featuring a tiny feather in shades of copper, cream and grey on natural linen.
The embroidery is created with varying shades of thread giving depth and definition to each feather. I start by drawing a faint outline, then 'draw free hand' with my machine, changing threads as I go along, building up layers of colour to create the shape and texture of each feather.
The embroidery is mounted and framed in lime-washed wood and measures approximately 24cm x 24cm. Actual embroidery measures 10cm x 10cm.
